BINTULU (Dec 18): Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu campus (UPMKB), in collaboration with Tabung Gagasan Ekonomi Anak Sarawak (Tegas), held a ‘Youth Leadership and Entrepreneurship (YLE) Workplace Readiness Programme’ recently.
Held at the Tegas Digital Innovation Hub here, the programme meant to equip young individuals with the necessary crucial skills before entering the workforce.
The university, in a statement, said the workshop, attended by participants from UPMKB and Bintulu Vocational College, was filled with sessions – all aimed at providing the participants with the essential skills such as effective communications, effective resume-writing, and interview tips.
Among the impactful sessions were practical knowledge and hands-on training on professional image enhancement to increase job prospects and also shape the identity of the youths.
The guest speakers included Fakhzan Buang, who spoke about ‘Image Impact: Polish Your Professional Persona’; Joyce Morris Kapong, with her topic ‘Elevate Your Resume to New Heights’; and Noor Hakim Ahmad, who covered ‘Navigating Interviews with Confidence’.
The programme chief coordinator Nur Asyiqin Zaidi said the event received positive and encouraging feedback from the participants.
“The participants have provided positive feedback and requested for more series of such programmes to be run next year.
“As the organiser, we are very pleased with the strong support shown by the participants and we will continue to organise and hold more high-impact and beneficial programmes, especially for the youths,” she said.
