SIBU (Feb 12): The construction of a main water pipeline along Jalan Salim, from Sibu Water Board (SWB) to Sing Kwong Shopping Complex, is set to commence on Feb 17.
In a statement, SWB said the project is expected to take approximately five and a half months, with completion targeted for July 31.
“During the pipeline construction, any vegetation, gardens, or trees within the government road reserve or roadside will be removed to facilitate the installation of the water pipeline.
“The contractor will carry out site clearing, material unloading, earth/road excavation, piling works, pipe installation, pipe jacking, and other related tasks,” it said.
SWB urged all road users to adhere to directional signs and safety notices throughout the construction period, assuring that the contractor would make every effort to complete the work as quickly as possible.
“However, if the weather or site conditions do not permit, the work will be postponed to the next available day,” it added.
