MUKAH (Feb 25): Police arrested a 32-year-old foreign drug pushing suspect during a raid behind a 24-hour premises at Jalan Pasar near here yesterday.
Mukah police chief DSP Muhamad Rizal Alias said a team from the Mukah Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) apprehended the suspect during a 12.40pm operation.
The team seized multiple packets of drugs believed to be methamphetamine.
“Upon searching the suspect, police found four transparent plastic packets and four yellow straw pieces containing crystalline substances suspected to be methamphetamine or syabu, with a total gross weight of 7.65 grammes and an estimated street value of RM765,” Muhamad Rizal said in a statement today.
He said the suspect, who works as a labourer, also tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine use.
The case is being investigated under Section 39A(1) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
“Additionally, the suspect is also being investigated under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 for failing to possess valid travel documents,” Muhamad Rizal added.
