MIRI (Aug 20): A 43-year-old woman was injured after her sedan collided with a pickup truck in front of Jalan Gaya, near Lawas Airport, earlier today.
The Fire and Rescue department (Bomba), in a statement, said it received a distress call regarding the incident at 8.36am, and eight firefighters from the Lawas fire station were dispatched to the location.
“On arrival, the operation commander reported that the accident involved a sedan and a pickup truck.
“The sedan driver sustained injuries to her hands and left knee, while the pickup truck driver and his passenger escaped unhurt,” it added.
Bomba said the injured victim was sent to Lawas Hospital for treatment.
The firefighters later carried out clearance work to remove accident debris from the road to ensure it was safe for road users before returning to the station.
