KUCHING (Aug 10): Some 60 youth from Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Pantai Damai’s Santubong Zone joined the ‘A Cup of Coffee with Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi’ programme on Sunday night.
The Santubong Zone covers three areas namely Santubong, Seberang Hilir, and Telaga Air.
The programme served as a relaxed platform to bridge the communication gap between local leadership and youths.
PBB Pantai Damai Youth chief Nurashniza Ashwin said the initiative was specially designed to enable the youth to interact with Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Project Coordinator for Regional Development Agencies, Kuching North City Commission and Islamic Affairs) Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi.
“This session provides ample space for the youth to voice their views, aspirations, and constructive suggestions regarding youth development and the progress of the local community,” she said in a statement.
Dr Abdul Rahman, who is Pantai Damai assemblyman, expressed his pride and hope that the youth in his constituency will continue to develop into highly capable and competitive human capital.
He aspired to see the young people in Pantai Damai constituency emerge as successful individuals and become experts in their respective fields to drive the development of Sarawak.
He added that this would contribute to the state government’s aspirations to transform Sarawak into an advanced and prosperous state.
According to Nurashniza, the programme reflects the continued commitment of the PBB Pantai Damai leadership in listening to the voices of the younger generation and ensuring that the youth development agenda is always a priority in the area.
