MIRI: Graduates of the Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health (DipOSH) from Fajar International College (FIC) are not only making their families feel proud, but have also become an inspiration to their juniors of their former secondary schools.

One of these alumni Awangku Mohamad Firdaus Bin Merais, who is now earning a steady income as a site safety supervisor (SSS) with an oil and gas company in Bintulu, says he has made the right choice to further his studies in FIC, and he was happy to share his experience with the juniors during a FIC information session held at a secondary school.

Meanwhile, FIC, which received its ISO 9001: 2008 certification recently, is the first and by far the only education provider to offer the DipOSH (Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health) that is recognised by the Department of Occupational Safety and Health, Malaysia (DOSH) and the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, UK.

It is also the premier college in East Malaysia to offer OSH programs as this is the first Diploma in OSH program here recognised by DOSH, approved by Ministry of Higher Education, and accredited by Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).

With that status, graduates from this college can register themselves as ‘Safety & Health Officer’ (or SHO) with DOSH upon completion with three years of relevant working experience.

FIC invites applications from prospective students for its coming May intake for all programmes. For enquiries or more information, call 085 – 491448 or visit the website www.fic.edu.my.
