AusEd-UniEd joins BPIEF 2010

KUCHING: With the participation of AusEd-UniEd (AU) Kuching, a leading education placement agency in town, in the Borneo Post International Education Fair (BPIEF) 2010, visitors will be spoilt for choice and information with the variety of institutions it represents.

Pioneering in education placement for more than a decade, AU will provide a wealth of information on education institutions in Australia, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Malaysia with regards to the different education system, courses available, cost comparison and many more to enable students to make the right decisions in furthering their studies.

“Parents looking at sending their children to both public and private schools in Australia and the UK can also speak to SchoolEd counsellors who will be present at the BPIEF,” said AU online communication manager/counsellor Carolyn Leong during a press conference yesterday.

According to Leong, SchoolEd is a new division of AU setup last year specialising in placing overseas students in top elite Australian and British schools.

During the education fair, AU will hold a seminar called ‘Study Options after SPM’ conducted by AU International group marketing and recruitment director James Kon.

Having joined AU International in 2003, he has been active in promoting education options overseas particularly in Australia and the UK to Malaysian parents and students.

Kon, who is an Australian permanent resident, holds a Certificate in Australian Migration Law from the Victoria University and is a practising Registered Migration Agent.

He is also a Qualified Education Agent Counsellor.

Among other services offered by AU is assistance in applying for scholarships/bursaries in various institutions up to 50 per cent.

Scholarships are available for Canning College, Eynesbury Institute, Bradford College, La Trabo International College, University of Queensland, University of Tasmania, Monash, Deakin, the University of Sheffield, Newcastle University, University of Liverpool, INTO, Northumbria University and many more.

BPIEF 2010 is scheduled to take place from March 26 to March 28 at the Permata Car Park here.

Chief Minister Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and Minister of Education Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, who is also deputy prime minister, are expected to be present at the opening ceremony.

The fair, organised by The Borneo Post and managed by Borneo International Expo (BiE) Sdn Bhd would serve as a platform for students from the region to explore quality undergraduate and post-graduate programmes in the country.
