KUALA LUMPUR: An unidentified group has claimed that it is in possession of black and white video clips showing the promiscuity of an opposition leader with a female prostitute at a hotel here that offered sexual services.
The group, led by a person who identified himself only as Datuk T, said it would hand over the tape to the opposition leader and his wife within a week.
The group also claimed to be in possession of a watch, said to be owned by the politician, which was allegedly taken away by the woman during their tryst on Feb 21 this year.
The members said they decided to reveal this now because it was high time that the public knew the truth about the politician.
Earlier, members of the media were invited to view the video footage at a hotel.
According to a journalist from Oriental Daily, the journalists were frisked and told to surrender their mobile phones, cameras and other electronic gadgets.
They were given an ankle-length robe to be worn over their clothes from neck down before taken into a screening room.
The first batch of pressmen to view the video consisted of those from The Star, Utusan Malaysia, and Berita Harian.
The second batch were made up of Oreintal Daily, China Press, Kwong Hua Yit Poh and News Straits Times while Bernama and other online news portal were the third batch.
Oriental Daily journalist said that the video, which lasted 25 minutes, showed a man having sex with a woman.
Meanwhile, when asked to comment on the matter, Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein said so far there was no police report made in connection with the video.
“We cannot take action unless there is a police report,” he said.
Hishammuddin also asked those with information on the matter to contact the police. – Agencies
