PASIR MAS: Four people were killed while two were seriously hurt in a horrific crash at Km11 Jalan Pasir Mas-Tanah Merah in Kampung Tok Uban near here on Wednesday night.
The victims were identified as Mohd Faisal Fakruddin,16, of Kampung Chetok in Pasir Mas, Che Samsudin Mat Ghafar, 16, of Kampung Pasir Jering in Kuala Krai, Ariff Mohd Zain, 35, of Kampung Chetok and Wee Tai Kit, 40, of Kampung Cherang in Kota Baharu.
Pasir Mas police chief ACP Mohd Haliluddin Rahim said the crash involving six vehicles caused serious injury to Aliff Azhar, 12, and Mohd Hazayudi Zainal Abidin, 36.
He said the crash at 7.20pm occured when the Honda Wave motorcycle ridden by Ariff with son Aliff as pillion went against traffic and collided into a Yamaha RXZ motorcycle ridden by Mohd Faizal and cousin Che Samsudin.
“The impact sent the three victims sprawling onto the road before being run over by two lorries travelling from Tanah Merah to Pasir Mas,” he told reporters here yesterday.
Then a Volvo travelling from Tanah Merah to Pasir Mas driven by Hazayudi collided head-on into a Proton Saga driven by Wee as he tried to avoid the three victims lying on the road. — Bernama
