LIMBANG: Limbang MP Hasbi Habibollah describes the relationship between the component parties of Pakatan Rakyat (PR) as “sleeping in the same bed, but having different dreams”.

He said this was clearly illustrated by PKR’s opposition to PAS’ intention to implement hudud law in Kelantan, which highlighted their frequent bickering and inability to rule the country as a united force.

“Various issues are being brought up by PR in their intention to become the government including having high ambition to take over Putrajaya as well as the hudud law brought up by PAS.

“They are becoming more desperate and willing to even stir up racial sentiments to reach their objective,” he said.

Hasbi said this when representing Second Minister of Planning and Resource Management Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan at Kedayan Association Limbang (PKL) Hari Raya Gathering on Tuesday night.

Also present were Bukit Kota assemblyman Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail, Bekenu assemblywoman Rosey Yunus, deputy Resident (Social) Stephen Kalong, PKL chairman Abdullah Osman and PKL deputy chairman cum walikota of Limbang District Council Sufian Mohat.

Hasbi also pointed out that the implementation of hudud did not receive the green light from DAP after it was announced by Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat, adding that DAP senior leaders had in fact threatened to resign if hudud law was implemented in the country.

He also told the people to reject the opposition if they wanted a better future.

“We need to choose and retain the current good administration so that our future generations do not suffer because of our mistake in choosing our leaders and government,” he said.

He also warned them of certain quarters wanting to be ‘heroes’ in Limbang.

“There are certain quarters wanting to become heroes in Limbang. They go to villages asking villagers to venture into agriculture because they know the government is implementing various agricultural programmes for rural folks.

“They acted as if the programmes were initiated by them,” he said.

Hasbi later announced a RM10,000 grant from Awang Tengah and another RM20,000 from himself and Dr Rahman for the association.
