MIRI: Miri mayor Lawrence Lai and Laku chief executive officer Wong Tiong Kai examined a water pipe dislocated by soil erosion at Jalan Luak Bay in the company of a taskforce yesterday.
The dislocated pipe affected the water supply and water quality.
The duo did a site inspection of the area.
“A meeting will be held to identify the best solution for the dislocated water pipe,” Lai said.
Miri City Council is working in collaboration with Drainage and Irrigation Department (DID) as well as the Public Works Department (PWD) to solve the problem. Lai suggested that a storm drain be built in the area.
He said the council, DID and PWD should collaborate to speed up the work.
