405 dengue cases recorded in third week of May

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 405 dengue cases were recorded in the third week of May (week ending 19th May), which was 12 cases more than the 393 cases recorded the week before.

Health director-general Datuk Seri Dr Hasan Abdul Rahman said cumulative cases from January till May 19 was 9,607, a 21 per cent increase or 1,644 cases as compared to 7,963 cases for the corresponding period last year.

“Fatlities due to dengue also increased by 67 per cent or eight deaths, 20 deaths during that period (January till May 19) as compared to 12 deaths during the same period last year,” he said in a statement here Thursday. –Bernama
