MIRI: Teachers should continue inculcating the 1Malaysia concept in students so that they would grow up with a strong sense of unity and harmony.
In making the call, Assistant Minister of Communication Datuk Lee Kim Shin said the concept, which was introduced by the prime minister, was a good and appropriate one for national integration.
“Students should be taught to always have a positive attitude and be united in all aspects,” he said at SMK Baru Excellence Award ceremony here recently.
His text-of-speech was read out by Miri Mayor Lawrence Lai.
Lee, who is also Assistant Minister of Sports, reminded students to be active academically and in co-curriculum activities.
They should also strive to think outside the box and not merely be a master of “conventional knowledge”.
“You are our country’s hope for the future, hence, you must strive harder and do your very best to develop your potential to not only benefit yourself, but also your family, communities and country.”
