MIRI: Beginning this year, Boulevard Hypermarket will be holding ‘Love Our Planet’ lucky draw every month end, whereby 30 lucky shoppers will win prizes worth more than RM6,000 in total comprising high quality kitchenware.
This monthly lucky draw was in support of the ‘Say No To Plastic 2.0’ campaign recently launched by the Miri City Council.
It was the hypermarket’s way of introducing innovative way to discourage shoppers from using plastic bags by offering them the chance to win lucrative prizes in its ‘Love Our Planet’ lucky draw.
According to its marketing manager Alan Lee, even though the 10 sen collected from every plastic bag will eventually go to charity, the hypermarket still wants its customers to reduce the usage of plastic bags.
“We’d like to highlight this matter to the public even though they knew that the 10 sen charge will go to charity, it is also imperative that we should love and protect our environment,” he pointed out.
To participate, a customer needs only spend RM30 and above without using plastic bag at the hypermarket.
“So far the response has been overwhelming. We ran out of the entry forms in just four days!” Lee said.
Since the event was launched on Jan 1, the management was taken by surprise by such good response from the public, he added.
Meanwhile, since Chinese New Year is approaching, Boulevard Hypermarket has prepared a host of festive hampers as well as many other festive goodies which include food items.
And on Jan 23, Boulevard Hypermarket at Boulevard Shopping Mall will be launching its Chinese New Year Canopy Corridor which is located at the car park area of the mall.
Here, it will be like a Chinese New Year town where visitors will find a host of items for their festive needs.
