MIRI: IBS College has donated RM2,000 to the Palliative Care Association of Miri (PCAM) for it to manage a charity jogathon, scheduled for flag-off this Oct 1.
According to college Dr Antony Hii, the contribution for the ‘Run For Love 2015’ is part of the group’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes.
“This is a part of the college’s obligation to assist NGOs (non-governmental organisations) in their fund-raising efforts. Apart from the money donated, IBS College also will send 40 students to take part in the jogathon” he said after presenting the cheque to the event organising chairman Richard Wong here recently.
The ‘Run For Love 2015’, which will be flagged off and finish at Piasau Boat Club, is divided into 5km and 10km routes. The organiser is targeting a participation of more than 500 runners across four categories, namely Men’s and Women’s Open (Above-18), as well as Boys Junior and Girls Junior (Age Group 12-17).
Registration fee is RM50 per person, with the entry forms downloadable via www.palliativecaremiri.org.

PCAM is a non-profit organisation in need to public support to cover daycare centre, utilities and other expenses, medical equipment, training as well as salaries of three full-time nurses.
