SIBU: Renovation works on the proposed Entrepreneur Incubation Hub at Sibu Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (SCCCI) premises costing about RM1 million is expected to be completed by Jan 3, 2019.
SCCCI president Dr Hii Sui Cheng told a press conference here yesterday that works are already in progress.
He added that apart from the incubation hub, works also included the administration floor and stairways leading to these places.
The hub is housed at the 5th floor with supporting administrative amenities at the 1st floor of SCCCI’s premises.
“All works expected to be completed by Jan 3 (2019) and then it will be gradually occupied by budding entrepreneurs…we hope many will migrate to become successful businessmen/ industrialists/ agriculturists,” he said.
SCCCI received a grant of RM1 million from Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg to set up an innovation hub for entrepreneurs.
Hii said their side have already made contact with the Chief Minister’s Office to confirm on a suitable date for Abang Johari to declare open the premises and give away prizes to winners of the 2018 young entrepreneur competition.
