KUCHING: Sarawak Career and Training (ScaT) Fair 2019 will be held from March 15 to 17 at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK).
Assistant Minister of Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment Datu Len Talif said the annual event will provide a platform for school leavers and parents to obtain information on education and career opportunities, and funds available to pursue their education whether in academic or skilled training.
He said 119 exhibitors from companies, public and private institutions of higher learning, financial aid providers, technical schools and government departments and agencies have confirmed their participation for the three-day fair.
“ScaT Fair is an event unique to Sarawak as it is dynamic with ever changing activities to fit the state’s direction and also industrial and public needs with regard to training and career pathways,” Len said at a press conference at BCCK today to announce the event.
He pointed out that the fair was also among the many initiatives taken by the state government to help school leavers pursue their higher education or career, either in academic or technical fields upon leaving school.
According to him, the organisers have chosen March for the event before the announcement of SPM and STPM results to give an opportunity to school leavers and parents to have up to date information.
