Two Chinese schools to receive RM60,000 allocation each

MIRI: Two Chinese schools in Lambir constituency will receive RM60,000 each to upgrade school facilities.

The allocation to SJK (C) Tukau and SJK (C) Chung Hua Bakam was disclosed by Lambir assemblyman Ripin Lamat in his speech at the opening of the annual sports day jointly organised by the two schools here recently.

“Both schools will receive an allocation of RM60,000 each. When the fund is approved next year, it will be distributed to these two Chinese schools for school upgrading,” he said.

Ripin commended the schools for emphasising both academic learning and  sports.

“The athletes’ success should start from a young age. Through this annual sports competition, we would be able to select outstanding athletes to represent the schools,” said Ripin, adding that the event also fostered unity and cooperation between the schools.

Green House of SJK (C) Chung Hua Bakam won the annual trophy during the sports meet.

SJK (C) Chung Hua Bakam headmistress Wong Ngiik Ming and SJK (C) Tukau headmaster Chuang Kuang Kit were also present.
