KUCHING: A 67-year-old food hawker from Sarawak scooped RM26.4 million Toto 4D Jackpot on Feb 26 after dreaming about the winning numbers a few years ago.
The lucky winner, who came to collect his winnings at Sports Toto’s head office, said the set of winning numbers – ‘9958’ and ‘5198’ were derived from the dream.
“Although I can no longer recall the dream, I still buy the same set of numbers every time I bet.
“Working as a food hawker is a tough job and I have always wished to retire early since all my children have already started working. It is indeed a great retirement gift for me to win the jackpot,” he said.
The winner broke the good news to his family immediately after checking the results on Wednesday night.
“We are very excited and we decided to fly to Kuala Lumpur the next day after the draw so that we can collect the winnings as soon as possible,” he said.
The winner said he would normally spend RM10 to RM20 on a draw and that he would never forget to spend another RM2 on the Toto 4D Jackpot game which ultimately won him a whopping RM26,409,196.15.
He added that he planned to share some of his new-found wealth with his children and save the rest for his retirement.
