KUCHING: Those having fever, coughing, breathing difficulty and flu are urged to visit the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) screening centre at the Youth and Sports Complex, Jalan Tun Ahmad Zaidi Adruce here.
Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said that they should come here to seek medical advice on their condition.
“Medical personnel there will check on them. However, I would like to advise those going there to practise social distancing and also to wear face masks,” he said after visiting the centre today.
He added that the Covid-19 screening centre at the Youth and Sports Complex has two sections; one to cater to those who were quite sick and one for those suffering from slight fever.
Accompanying him during the visit were Housing and Local Government Minister Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian, Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department (Corporate Affairs and Sarawak Public Communications Unit) Abdullah Saidol and Deputy State Secretary Datu Ik Pahon Joyik.

Uggah, who is also Chairman of the State Disaster Management Committee, said the centre is open from 8am to 5pm daily.
Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) announced earlier today that the Covid-19 screening will now be conducted at the Youth and Sports Complex starting today.
Through its statement released by the State Disaster Management Committee, it said that members of the public who showed symptoms of Covid-19 and had been in close contact with the four clusters should go to the Complex instead of SGH.
