SIBU (May 24): The Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) branch here will be launching its new ambulance on May 26 as part of its World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day celebration.

The event, to take place at its Jalan Awang Ramli Amit premises, will also see the launching of MRC Sibu’s Duit Now and S Pay Global QR codes, said chairman Penghulu Chua Hiong Kee.

“For the launching of our new Toyota ambulance, we have invited all our sponsors to grace the event. The sponsors are Lanang MP Alice Lau, Temenggong Dato Vincent Lau, Dr Tang Sie Hing, Delta Leasing Berhad and Sibu Buddhist Association,” he said.

As for the QR codes, Chua said having the Duit Now and S Pay Global platforms would facilitate MRC Sibu’s fundraising efforts.

“These platforms provide a secure, efficient and user-friendly way for us to receive donations, thus helping us focus on our critical mission. Donors will just need to scan the codes to make instant contributions.”

Bukit Assek assemblyman Joseph Chieng will be the guest of honor for the event, which is scheduled to run from 10am to noon.
