KUCHING (March 7): A two-storey semi-permanent house along Jalan Foochow here was completely destroyed in a fire today.
In a statement, the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said they received a distress call at 11.58am and immediately dispatched a team from the Tabuan Jaya fire station, with support from the Padungan station.
Upon arrival, firefighters found that the occupant of the house, a 48-year-old man, was not home at the time of the incident.
Firefighters successfully contained the fire before it could spread to nearby houses, and the operation was concluded at 12.52pm.
No casualties were reported from the incident.
