KUCHING (Oct 2): The Pharmaceutical Association of Malaysia (PhAMA) is set to host its inaugural Career Day in Borneo at the Auditorium of the Borneo Cultures Museum here this Oct 25.
In a statement, its president Kam Ai Teng said Kuching’s selection as the venue underscores Sarawak’s growing importance in nurturing talent for Malaysia’s pharmaceutical industry.
She elaborated that the event aims to highlight diverse career paths, extending opportunities not only to pharmacists and healthcare professionals but also to individuals from fields such as business, accounting, information and communication technology (ICT), multimedia, logistics, and human resources.
“The pharmaceutical industry is evolving rapidly and requires a wide pool of expertise beyond traditional healthcare roles,” she said.
“Through this Career Day, we hope to inspire students, young professionals, and even parents to explore rewarding careers in this dynamic sector.”
The event will be officiated by Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian.
Featured activities include career talks and industry insights, skill-building workshops on curriculum vitae (CV) writing and interview techniques, and networking sessions with pharmaceutical companies and professionals.
Participants can learn about opportunities in regulatory affairs, clinical research, policy, sales and marketing, and other healthcare-related roles.
Admission is free and refreshments will be provided. Students, graduates, professionals and parents are encouraged to attend.
