KUCHING: A total of 85 people from 43 families at Kampung Batu Kitang near here were evacuated after the flood water rose yesterday.
They were put up at the nearby Kampung Batu Kitang Jaya multi-purpose hall which had been turned into a flood relief centre.
Meanwhile, at Kampung Simpok in Padawan, more than 150 people have also been evacuated.
A spokesman for Civil Defence Department said the victims from the village were placed at a school.
He said the villagers started to move to the centre from around 6pm and were given necessary assistance.
