Two suspected drug traffickers among 33 people detained in police ops


KUANTAN: The police have detained two men suspected of trafficking in drugs, and 31 people who tested positive for drug abuse in an operation here yesterday.

The suspects were picked up at several areas in the vicinity of the Fisheries Development Authority of Malaysia in an operation codenamed, ‘Ops Tapis Khas’, about 6.30pm.

Pahang Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department chief Superintendent Yap Toon Khuan said yesterday, the suspected drug traffickers were dealing in heroin and syabu in the areas.

He said the police seized 30 grammes of heroin and 25 grammes of syabu, as well as RM641, believed to be proceeds from the sale of drugs, from the two suspects. — Bernama
