SIBU: Drink vendor Ismail Olen made the right choice nine years ago when he switched from selling satay to selling drinks.
The ‘Mail Olen Raja Air Sibu’ drink stall has always been the favourite stop for visitors from all walks of life.
Today, he is enjoying good business at his drink stall in Bandong area.
Besides Allah whom he thanked for giving him good health and many blessings, he said he owed much to his customers who are from different racial origins.
Better known to his friends as ‘Mail Olen Raja Air Sibu’, he also moves around in the central region to sell his drinks.
“I set up my stall whenever and wherever there is an occasion, be it in Bintulu, Mukah, Kanowit, Sarikei, Bintagor, Selangau or my hometown Sibu,” he said.
Mail said he made the decision to switch from satay to drinks mainly because of the cost involved.
“The switch reduced my overheads,” he said.
His drinks include fresh sugarcane juice, fresh coconut drink, air bandong, milo, corn, cincau, air samboi and air durian belanda.
Mail said the fresh sugarcane juice and fresh coconut drink were the favourites of his customers.
“As we all know, these fresh sugarcane juice and fresh coconut drink are good for health,” he pointed out.
