KUCHING: Nusantara Institute of Information Technology (NIIT College) introduced six new diploma programmes in conjunction with the college’s 18th anniversary celebration yesterday.
The new initiatives are Diploma in Actuarial Finance, Diploma in Entrepreneurship, Diploma in Event Management, Diploma in Marketing, Diploma in Supply Chain Management, and Certificate for Business.
Its chief executive officer, Anderson Voon, said NIIT College would always try to help its students complete their studies promptly so that they could enter the workforce.
“More importantly, we help our graduates send their resume to our corporate partners,” he told a press conference.
He added the college also offered a range of good deals for its students’ benefits.
The deals include affordable fee coupled with flexible and zero per cent interest loans for tuition fees, full job assistance for graduates, free Apple Macbook, free Huawei smartphone with 24-month line rental, and free 24-month hostel accommodation and food allowance for outstation students.
As of yesterday, he said 60 students had signed up for the new courses. This included six outstanding SPM achievers, who have been offered scholarships by Regal International Group.
The six are Loh Kei Yee (from SMK Sungai Maong, with 10A’s), Elaine Ling (SMK Sungai Tapang, 10A’s), Kim Ng Peng Sing (SMK Bandar Kuching No. 1, 10A’s), Karen Goh Siaw Ching (SMK Green Road, 7A’s and 3B’s), Wong Jia Hui (SMK Tiong Hin, Sibu, 7A’s, 1B and 1C) and Tnay Tze Chung (SMK Bandar Kuching No.1, 9A’s and 1B).
Meanwhile, NIIT College is in the process of collaborating, through articulation and twinning, with a number of local and foreign universities for the benefit of students who wish to further their studies in Australia, United Kingdom or United State after completing their diploma courses.
NIIT College is also a registered English Learning Centre and Examination Centre for IELTS. Its students can sit for IELTS at any time during their study and this qualification provides an added advantage for those who articulate into the degree programmes of foreign universities.
Its other in-demand programmes include Diploma in Accountancy, Diploma in Business Management, Diploma in Secretaryship and Diploma in Information Technology.
